If you go to the west coast of Bordeaux in the town of Arsac (Margaux) you will encounter a beautiful estate. This charming estate built in the 18th century has a treasure chest of stories from over the past hundred’s of years to tell and is known as Château Monbrison.
Château Monbrison is located the famous Margaux village of Arsac, aproximately 20 minutes outside the center of Bordeaux. Its history can be traced back to 18th century. In 1921, it was brought by Robert Davis, the grandfather of the current owner, Mr. Laurent Vonderheyden. After those hard time of war, Laurent’s mother, Elizabeth Davis, replanted the vineyards. In 1963 she made a strategic farming arrangement , which started a new chapter for the growth of Château Monbrison.
Chateau Monbrison is now led by her son Laurent Vonderheyden, Laurent’s passion for his families property has propelled Château Monbrison to become a member of the famous Unions des Grand Crus de Bordeaux and is continuously recognized among wine connoisseurs and media from all over the world.
28.6 Acres of vines, hand harvest, 18 month in 40% new French oak. The wines are not filtered.
